Landlords: annual gas safety checks
Landlords must have gas appliances and flues they provide checked every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer and keep the record for at least two years.
Existing tenants must get a copy of the record within 28 days of the check, and new tenants before they move in.

What is a CP12?
It's the common name for a landlord gas safety record, the report an engineer gives you after checking the gas appliances and flues in a rented property.
How do I check an engineer is registered?
Ask to see their Gas Safe Register ID card. The back shows the types of gas work they're qualified to do. You can also check their number with Gas Safe Register.
